Another Bit of Inspiration . . . a phenomenal leadership collaboration in September-October 2000

I had the honour of working for the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympics Games 2000 for four years, between 1996 and 2000.  I directed the operational planning for the 40+ competition venues.  This still remains one of the highlights of my career life.  What an extraordinary adventure we had in Sydney!  She sparkled like a diamond.

Memories of Venue Management Sydney 2000

Venue Managers were the leaders who managed each venue and its 50+ functions. The number of staff they managed ranged from 5000 at the Olympic Stadium to 400 at the Archery Centre. Across our 40+ venues we had 3000 paid staff, 60,000 volunteers and 70,000 contractors. 

 

  I had the privilege of directing the planning of these 40+ women and men under the leadership of John Quayle.
